My 1000xRESIST OCs

✏ïļ Inventive Shell

Name: Inventive Shell

Type: Fixer, but she thinks she should have been a Knower-type instead because she's more drawn to information than action and she's a bit too distractable to be trusted with tools. She makes it work by studying old manuals and techniques, allowing her creativity to be an asset as long as her fellow Fixer-types tackle the more hands-on project.

Timeline: She was born around the time as the current Fixer

Relationships: She spends a bit too much time trying to fix things in the medbay because of having a crush on Healer. She also gets on Knower's nerves because she's always borrowing from the archives without returning the items... or asking to take them at all. She likely knew the prior Watcher somewhat.

Personality: Creative but distractable.

Uncertainties: I'm not totally sure yet if she makes it into the post-AA era. I think she died from the virus, likely due to her own clumsiness and because it's something Healer gets to be haunted by. It's also possible she had been the lead Fixer before our Fixer and left on the train before the main events of the game - I just know I want her to have lived most of her life in this era of the Orchard. That also brings up the question of her views on the ALLMOTHER, and I don't think it's something she's thought much about honestly. She gets so focused on her projects she likely just accepts the world around her as-is, but I do think the amount of knowledge she takes in about past technology gives her some perspective that the ALLMOTHER probably didn't build the Orchard panel by panel with her own hands.

💉 Healer's Predecessor

Name: Healer, before our Healer

Type: Healer

Timeline: She was the Shapen Sister in this faction before our Healer took over

Relationships: She is more standoffish, too focused on her work to make many close relationships beyond ones that are useful. She sees Healer's talents and willingness to go to almost any length to save her sisters, which she takes special interest in. She just think that Healer's motivation being love for her sisters holds her back, meanwhile our Healer thinks it's what keeps her moving forward. Because prior!Healer is so practical, she gets along with Knower in the way that they can exist silently together with some sense of mutual agreement.

Personality: Practical and focused

Uncertainties: A big reason I haven't done much with her is because I need to think of what our Healer's shell name would have been and that is a big task for someone as indecisive as me.

🔎 Harlowe & Stelle

Name: Harlowe & Stelle

Role: Harlowe is a scientist on the 50 ship. Stelle is her child.

Timeline: Harlowe came aboard the ship when she was in her 20s. She has Stelle when in her 30s, around 15 years into the mission.

Relationships: Harlowe is able to repress any discomfort about experimenting on Iris due to it being a necessity to survive and surely it'll be all over soon. Having her own child made it harder to look away. Would she be able to justify Stelle going through such a thing? Probably not. But now that she does have Stelle, she knows she'll do anything she can to keep her safe, even if it means sacrificing someone else's daughter to the cause. Stelle grew up with the circumstances being her norm. She didn't know Iris very well and there were few other children around. On occasion, some clones would play with her due to their own childlike development, which did make her wonder if the things her mother's friends did to the clones was fair. She didn't want her friends to be in pain. But it wasn't really something to question given the circumstances. They all suffer without a cure. So she grew up to repeat the same work with her own Iris clone under Mimi's mentorship. The Occupant's intervention is the only thing that cut their own generational patterns short.

Personality: Harlowe started out with some determination. She never stops, but she is exhausted by the end and may have given up years ago if not for Stelle. Stelle is... as well-adjusted as a person can be in such a situation, particularly since Harlowe did do her best to protect her, but that isn't saying much.

Uncertainties: Unsure exactly when Stelle was born, if Stelle has another parent, or if Stelle was born from a set of embryos brought aboard for a worst-case-scenario continuation of the species. Also not totally certain how much choice Harlowe had in the matter since there is likely a sense of duty to keep replacing soldiers who have died from the virus.

🧃 Peach Jiao

Name: Peach Jiao

Type: Jiao clone

Timeline: She is born fairly soon into the new post-AA era, earning the "privilege" from good service to work in the Orchard at times

Relationships: She may have been somewhat close with Jiao Prime at first, being mentored under her, but I doubt Principal allowed Jiao Prime to be away from her often. Once she does realize the exploitation her life amounts to, it does give Peach some conflicting feelings about the injustice of their roles versus how Prime so easily maintains her own.

Personality: She is taught to be sweet and she wants to excel, but of course she becomes jaded and struggles to decide if staying still is easier than resisting forward. Some of the younger Jiao clones are more set on change than she is because they came into the current circumstances with a somewhat outsider POV, whereas Peach Jiao grew into the norms and is just kind of tired of there being no end in sight.

Uncertainties: What life is like where the Jiaos typically live, other Jiao clones she knows, what she really does in her daily tasks, etc.

ðŸŠķ Plume

Name: Plume

Pronouns: They/Them

Type: On the surface, old roles likely fall away. Plume is something akin to a biologist as they learn and relearn the world above. It is such a huge shift for Knower types to catalogue the surface after only having limited archives of the past and such a small present to annotate so, regardless of what role Plume may have had in the Orchard itself, they're eager to help move their civilization's databanks forward.

Timeline: In the time of Epitaphs (Red or Blue) once new society has begun to develop. The overall group likely stays near the Orchard to live out of it until they can branch out into new groups ("branched into a world with plenty."). I imagine that Fixer builds an aircraft to explore and takes a handful of people like Plume with her.

Relationships: Probably toxic yuris with Fixer because Fixer is looking for anything to distract her from what happened to Watcher. Plume very likely was either born toward the end of the undersea era or on the surface, so they're new enough to not have Watcher wound into their personal history the way many others do, and more removal from the political discourse of Watcher versus the ALLMOTHER. There isn't as much baggage for someone from a newer generation. Plume does want to know more, but there's a point of not even knowing what to ask and just figuring out what they can from rumors and records. All they know is Fixer looks particularly sad when looking up at the real glowing stars above.

Personality: Curious, but aware of their surroundings. They know the dangers they walks into and they do it anyway if they thinks the knowledge they'll gain is valuable enough.

Uncertainties: I'm unsure if Plume is an Iris clone, Jiao clone, or perhaps a clone of one of the 50 or another source. There's also the whole... new mega worldbuilding piece I need to think more about. Where did the 50 ship even surface? Can they use it to travel for a while until settling down?
